Quick Note

Read Nick Paumgarten's "Tables for Two" column in this week's New Yorker. Now that's how to blurb a restaurant.

Although I agree with you in your previous blog, I can't do it here.

Landmarc is a bistro, bro.

(Most)everybody can relate to French onion soup without adjectives or, pretty peevishly, alliterations.

But can we do the same with a Selle d'Agneau Rôtie Entière?

see, to me that n.p. knew to match his prose to the place means kudos for him, from me. too often a reviewer will try to create a type of excitement that just isn't the type a restaurant holds (while it may, and in this case does, hold others). plus the quip about your drinking going semi-pro twanged my heart-strings, but you knew that.
